Linda Bamford

Director of Secondary Education

Linda trained as a secondary teacher gaining a B.Ed Hons and later, an MBA in Educational Management. She began her teaching career in the London Borough of Havering developing her leadership experience in a number of schools before taking up her first Headship in Essex of an 11-16 comprehensive school. Her second Headship of an 11-18 comprehensive school provided her with an overall experience of 18 years of leading schools, during which time she was invited to be in the vanguard of consultant heads delivering the London Challenge model.

As a result of working with schools in the most challenging circumstances, Linda left her headship to work for the National College of School Leadership to set up and deliver the Black Country City Challenge in addition to developing the school to school support programmes including NLE, LLE and Teaching School national initiatives. She subsequently, became the lead associate for the Eastern Region for NCSL.

On leaving her work with NCSL, Linda has worked with a number of schools as an executive coach and trainer in all aspects of leadership development. She has also delivered leadership training at a local, national and international level. She is trained to deliver the Covey Speed of Trust programme and has facilitated seminars and workshops for local authorities as well as schools as they search for excellence within a multi- dimensional accountability framework.

Linda’s passion is to ensure that every child is educated to their highest potential regardless of the challenging circumstances that they and their schools face in today’s’ world. For her, leadership is the most powerful competence to unlock potential and to ensure improvement and consequently enhance the lives of all who learn and work within their communities.
